Hello all,

Four Minutes to Midnight is now accepting poetry, prose and visual
art submissions for its 9th issue, due out this fall. We've had great
success and feedback from our last two issues, with interest and
support coming from a wide-ranging and eclectic community of artists.
We expect issue 9 to carry this momentum forward into new creative
territory.

Given the collaborative, experimental and often 'accidental' nature
of Four Minutes to Midnight, we've found that a succinct description
of the zine is always a little hard to come by. If you'd like to
submit some work, please take the time to peruse previous issues
(available for download in pdf format at www.lokidesign.net
documents.html) to get an idea of what we're about. If you're
interested in what we're doing, then we'll most likely be interested
in your work. As a general rule, we're looking for work that is both
personal and political, work that explores our concept of language,
and ideas that aren't seen as too precious to be tossed around and
played with a bit.

This time around though, in order to get ideas moving faster, we've
decided to loosely theme the issue around the concept of conflict and
silence. A bit cheesy, and a bit melodramatic to be sure, but I think
they're broad concepts that can be expressed in any number of
interesting ways.

This is, as always, an interactive and collaborative project, so in
addition to the submitted work, there's a discussion thread on the
2356 blog, a "fugue", that will be used to generate text(ural)
content for the issue. It can be found here:

http://lokidesign.net/2356/2007/03/issue-09-keep-walking.html

We'll be weaving submitted content with that thread to create
something that will hopefully capture the "dialogue" between us on
this site, in our own lives and in our creative work.

Any comments, questions and submissions can be sent by email to
kevin@lokidesign.net or by post to:

Thanks, we're really looking forward to seeing what everyone has to
offer.
